Large dimension Direct Shear e Pull-out apparatus

This equipment consists of a large direct shear box that offers a large verstility. The box can host a reconstituted soil specimen with dimensions of 70 x 70 x 70 cm (direct shear test configuration) or 140 x 70 x 100 cm (pull-out test configuration). The specimens are tested under a K₀ stress condition.

Some examples of use:

• mechanical charcterisation of coarse and very coarse soils (particles with diameter up to 12 cm)
• soil/structure interface behaviour (direct shear soil-geomaterials, micropiles, soil-wall interface)
• certification of strenghtening elements and/or rigid and deformables soil inclusions (pull-out test with maximum dimensions of geomaterials 70 x 140 cm)
